Right tool for each job

Definition

PRISM's data-acquisition doctrine: every fact-gathering job goes to the tool built for it, with no blanket-routing and no fabrication. The whole pipeline is keyless (no paid data brokers).

The routing table

  • scout acquires the target company's OWN first-party data: company, executives, careers and jobs, investor relations.
  • gemini-grounded-search does open-web research: benchmarks, analyst quotes, news, competitor tech.
  • detect-search detects the search vendor and full tech stack, keyless.
  • yfinance pulls public financials (public companies; private use an estimate waterfall).
  • chrome-browser drives a real browser to test the prospect's live search.

Rules

  • No blanket-routing. Picking one tool for everything is wrong (a repeated user correction).
  • No fabrication. A field with no grounded source stays blank, never guessed.
  • Keyless. The pipeline needs no paid data keys (only a browser and a research model).

Notes

Wave-2 traffic is the one case that uses captured SimilarWeb screenshots rather than a live API, because the key was dead. See 2026-06-30-wave2-similarweb-screenshots. The doctrine is also held in memory feedback-right-tool-scout-gemini-detectsearch.

  • prism is the orchestrator that applies this doctrine.
