2026-07-07 — Argus recovery + Fable build handoff

  • Got up to speed: repo is planning-only (1 commit); the running Argus V0 lives on the Hermes container, disconnected from the spec.
  • Read the vision packet (manifesto + overview) and the CI research (Research/docs/Competitive-Intel-Proof.md).
  • Field-investigated Hermes (read-only): daily/weekly cron alive to Telegram 6789423537; every brief an identical empty quiet-day report; 15 deltas → 0 signals.
  • Production hotfix to ci_core.py (backup ci_core.py.bak-20260707): blob-segmentation + removed premature break + broadened topic whitelist. Dry-run: 0 → 8 signals, brief 13,421 bytes. Live proof = next 09:00 ET run.
  • Interview: locked hotfix-now+rebuild, multi-tenant day 1, tiered models, 4 channels, full-platform-gated, deploy-now authorization.
  • Wrote CI-OS/docs/planning/CI-OS-Fable-build-goal-spec.md (187 lines) — verified ground truth, decisions, Gates 0-7, paste-ready /goal, and §10 hard precondition (Claude provider on VPS before Gate 4). Linked in index.md.
  • Files: docs/planning/CI-OS-Fable-build-goal-spec.md (new), index.md (edited). Vault: Projects/CI-OS/index.md + log.md (new).
  • Open for Arijit: fix Claude provider on VPS (blocker), redline competitor sets (§4), eyeball tomorrow's 9AM brief, then /clear → /model claude-fable-5 → effort max → paste §8 goal.

2026-07-08 — Overnight multi-agent build: Gates 1-6 code complete

  • Recovered dropped session from SESSION.md + git; Gate 1 work found complete on disk, committed.
  • Built and committed via parallel subagents (each independently re-verified before commit): identity/ACL (41 tests), source-hunter (18/18 eval), V0 sqlite→Postgres migration script, collection layer (faithful port of prod-hotfixed ci_core.py extraction), exec-speech scanner, learning loop, delivery layer (telegram-rich + true-state bot_deliveries), semantic brain (synthesizer/claim-ledger/thesis/quality/FN-auditor/refute-panel), Postgres repos + first live schema apply (2 real schema bugs found+fixed, RLS tenant-bleed test green).
  • 11 commits (349f25e..e09e8c6), 216 offline + 16 integration tests green.
  • Gate 4 blocker CLEARED: Arijit ran /login locally; API key from Mac keychain installed to VPS (~/.cios-anthropic.key + /root/.hermes/.env); live call verified (VPS-CLAUDE-LIVE).
  • In flight at persist time: gate4-live-acceptance agent (real pages, real Claude, 5 hard criteria).
  • Process rules locked: build-status-report-format (DONE/NOW/PENDING table, %, traffic lights, plain English) + persist at every logical stage.
  • Lesson: haiku eval agents unreliable (2x idle without report) → sonnet minimum for evals.

2026-07-08 (03:05) — Gate 7 rehearsal loop: from partial fail to FULL PASS

  • Ran the 3-tenant rehearsal 6 times, fixing a real defect class each run (no massaging): quality gate not wired to delivery (fixed: GatedDeliveryCommander, verdict required by type); article evidence (fixed: raw_html carried, listing links filtered, resolver was false-green on stripped text); verbatim-quote verification (deterministic check vs full source + LLM reviewer gets quote-anchored excerpts, cited sources budget-first); reviewer parse retry; synthesizer doctrine rule 6 (specifics must be quotable); quality REVISE loop (failed review feeds fixes back for one revision, re-reviewed once).
  • FINAL RUN: ALL CHECKS PASSED — Algolia acceptance MET, quality passed all 3 tenants, planted misses 3/3 caught, zero tenant bleed (18 probes), delivery gated, 9/25 LLM calls.
  • Commits 15cc149, 41ac606, 8d63236, 2e9c5a3, 2bb0673. Suite 259 tests green.
  • Remaining before cutover: dashboard HTML render onto Arijit's existing UI (task #10), real-ci.sqlite migration on VPS, Arijit's morning verdicts (9AM brief quality + explicit cutover go).

2026-07-08 (03:40) — Dashboard renderer done; overnight build complete

  • html_renderer.py renders Arijit's existing dashboard design (verbatim CSS/classes from the live page, preserved at docs/workspace/dashboard-reference/) from V2 DashboardState; hero branches quiet / coverage-incomplete / active per no-green-quiet doctrine; theses + build-status panels in his visual language. Preview CLI scripts/render_dashboard_preview.py (local only, nothing deployed). Commit 1037df6, suite 267 green.
  • Honest gaps: report-history + suppressed-signals panels omitted (no truthful V2 data source yet); exec-speech lane unexercised in rehearsal; migration synthetic-only.
  • BUILD QUEUE EMPTY. Waiting: Arijit 9AM brief verdict, dashboard preview look, real-sqlite migration on VPS, cutover go.

2026-07-08 (~05:20 ET) — V2 DEPLOYED LIVE (parallel run), first real brief delivered

  • Arijit doctrine recorded (product-doctrine doc, 3 places) after his verbatim vision dump; brief/brain rebuilt to CMO persona + team routing + weekly/monthly cadence ladder; domain-agnostic enforced by test.
  • Explicit deploy go. VPS: code shipped (286 tests green ON the server), cios-postgres container + schema + seed, claude-shim systemd service (live-verified), REAL ci.sqlite migrated (43 sources/21 competitors/full history; loud-fail guard caught 2 schema mismatches -> migration reworked against real schema, dry-run regression test added).
  • Production runner: 3 live-run defects found+fixed in sequence (cold-start recency claims correctly blocked by quality gate -> BASELINE mode for first cycle; duplicate-source validation skipping collection -> collect existing ledger sources; row-shape bug). Final run: algolia 64 facts, 2 signals, quality PASSED, REAL Telegram delivery to Arijit's chat with "ARGUS V2 (parallel run)" marker.
  • Cron installed 09:15 UTC daily (15 min after V0's 09:00 so both briefs arrive side by side). V0 untouched. Cutover still needs Arijit's explicit go.
  • Commits through f81ff6e + deploy fixes. Doctrine: docs/planning/CI-OS-product-doctrine-2026-07-08.md.

2026-07-08 (~05:45 ET) — Doctrine addendum 2, V2 dashboard published, Hermes Architecture A adopted

  • V2 dashboard PUBLISHED: https://ci.chowmes.com/v2/ (served from V0's static root, republished each daily run via scoped sudoers rule). First real click-through audit done; gaps vs doctrine logged as tasks.
  • Doctrine addendum 2 recorded (verbatim intent): why-Argus = dot-connector (10/30/60-day industry lookbacks + own-brand research + contextualized PRESCRIPTIONS + collateral generation: marketing dashboards, landing pages). Freshness USP: actionable ≤30 min. CI-OS ships WITH Hermes, one spine.
  • Hermes integration study delivered + committed (CI-OS-hermes-integration-study-2026-07-08.md): Architecture A recommended — Hermes = runtime spine (channels/cron/webhooks/chat/freshness), cios = domain brain + the multi-tenant identity layer Hermes lacks (only genuine gap). Arijit greenlit ("proceeding? yeah"). Phase 1 recon agent dispatched (container mounts/network, V0 cron mechanics, provider registry, webhook deliver_only).
  • Module backlog created: own-brand research, multi-horizon research, prescription engine, collateral generator, premium dashboard experience (mockups to Arijit first).
  • Licensing hard stop noted: multi-tenant productization must swap personal Claude Max for per-tenant API keys.

2026-07-08 (~06:20 ET) — Phase 1: Hermes is the scheduler spine

  • Recon (verified myself): hermes container = host networking → cios-postgres:5433 + claude-shim:8663 reachable from inside; only mount = /root/.hermes → /opt/data.
  • Wired: repo at /root/.hermes/apps/cios with container venv (python 3.13), env at /root/.hermes/cios-env, trigger script /root/.hermes/scripts/cios-daily.sh; full-pipeline smoke run INSIDE the container passed (3 tenants green, smoke mode = no real sends).
  • Hermes cron job cios-v2-daily created via hermes CLI (15 9 * * * ET, --no-agent --script, deliver local). Duplicate chowmesadmin system cron REMOVED — one scheduler now.
  • TZ truth: VPS + container run America/New_York. V0 daily = 09:00 ET; V2 = 09:15 ET (Arijit's morning, 15-min side-by-side as planned).
  • Deferred (Phase 1b): route delivery through Hermes webhook deliver_only (runner still sends Telegram directly — works); claude-shim-as-Hermes-provider feasibility; email target unknown.
  • Content idea saved on Arijit's order: model-escalation/orchestration article (memory content-idea-model-escalation-orchestration + content-engine SSOT backlog).

2026-07-08 06:30 session-close addendum

  • Session closing after: V2 build+deploy, doctrine (2 addenda), Architecture A Phase 1 (Hermes cron drives V2), dashboard public, content idea saved. Morning proof pending: 09:00 ET V0 brief, 09:15 ET V2 brief (Hermes-fired).

2026-07-08 (~07:50 ET) — CUTOVER COMPLETE + all doctrine modules built

  • Arijit's explicit order executed: V0 daily+weekly cron PAUSED (rollback = hermes cron resume 19930dfa21e5 / 03671620cd60), cios-v2-daily moved to 0 9 * * * ET, "parallel run" marker dropped ("ARGUS — Daily Competitive Brief").
  • ci.chowmes.com ROOT now serves V2 in his exact layout: Signal Cards, Living Theses, Suppressed Signals (real suppressed_diagnostics data), Report history (migrated V0 archive + new runs), honest empty states, zero stubs. Old page backed up (index.html.v0-backup-20260708). Auto-publish wired into the Hermes cron script.
  • All 4 doctrine-addendum-2 modules committed: own-brand (0156cd8), multi-horizon dot-connector (3f866fc), prescription engine (84ae167), collateral generator (6cfd8f6). Suite 400 tests green.
  • First post-cutover brief: TODAY 09:00 ET. Remaining: wire 4 modules into daily/weekly flow; premium dashboard experience; Phase 1b delivery consolidation.

2026-07-08 (~12:35 ET) — First official Argus brief delivered (with plays); two defects found+fixed live

  • DEFECT (Arijit caught): V2 was wired to the default chowmes bot; Argus has its OWN bot (Argus_CI_bot, argus profile env). Repointed + live test message. Bot map saved to memory (reference-telegram-bots-map).
  • DEFECT: Hermes gateway only loads cron jobs at startup — cios-v2-daily (added via CLI while gateway ran) never fired at 09:00; hermes cron status reads the FILE, not the scheduler = false green. Fixed via gateway restart; next auto-run 07-09 09:00 ET.
  • 12:07 ET: manual catch-up run DELIVERED the first official brief (algolia: 3 signals, quality passed, YOUR PLAYS section, 4 action_items persisted). Spryker failed quality after revise → correctly BLOCKED. Dashboard refreshed 16:07 UTC.
  • Committed: module wiring (474ff5f), tenant onboarding pipeline (f3bb1b9, company-swap CLI). Suite 426 tests.
  • Open: content engine (#23), multi-channel subscriptions (#24), premium dashboard (#20), Phase 1b, own-brand DB seeding stub.

2026-07-08 (~13:00 ET) — Arijit's brief verdict (5 findings) → root-cause fixes dispatched

  • Verdict: (1) 8 cards = 1 story repeated, (2) theses equally redundant, (3) report history = noise + dead links on a DAILY page, (4) empty Suppressed panel useless, (5) right-rail boxes unclear value / build-health stub.
  • Root causes: no semantic dedup at promotion/compilation; thesis engine spawns instead of attaching; report page carried archive+ops panels.
  • Fix agent running: deterministic similarity clustering (cards + cross-run), thesis attach-vs-spawn, history dedup + link honesty, empty-panel suppression, right rail → single trust line, build-health deleted.
  • Separately: Arijit's REAL cockpit design found (docs/mockups/ci-os-dashboard-app-mockup.html + design checkpoint) — was never wired into V2 (my miss); cockpit-build agent wiring real data into his exact design, zero redesign.

2026-07-08 (~13:40 ET) — Cockpit LIVE; fidelity iteration in flight

  • Arijit's real cockpit design (docs/mockups/ci-os-dashboard-app-mockup.html) wired to live state (cockpit_renderer.py, d8f49f3) and PUBLISHED as ci.chowmes.com root — Luxury Editorial intact, real Constructor/Elastic intelligence in the barometer accordion (three-position framing visible in prod).
  • Redundancy verdict fixes shipped (3febe65): signal clustering (within+cross run), thesis attach-not-spawn, history dedup/no-dead-links, empty-panel suppression, trust line, build-health deleted. 462 tests.
  • Screenshot audit vs mockup found 5 fidelity gaps (hero = raw truncated text; barometer = per-SIGNAL rows not per-COMPETITOR; broken logo/photo assets; lenses not reading persisted action_items; brief link dead). cockpit-fidelity agent (sonnet) fixing all 5; then verify → ship → regenerate (~15 min server run) → side-by-side screenshot to Arijit.

2026-07-08 (~14:20 ET) — Cockpit value fixes live; day closes with full loop running

  • Arijit's 4 cockpit findings root-fixed: ordering bug (page rendered before plays attached — plays now visible in all 3 lenses, verified live), brief.html published (Open full brief works), sources dedup + composite attention score committed (state-time values — visible from next pipeline run).
  • Fast re-render path established: template/render fixes republish in ~30s from saved state; the 15-min pipeline only runs when data should change.
  • Day ends: full loop LIVE (collect → brain → gate → Telegram brief with plays → cockpit). First fully-automatic fixed cycle = tomorrow 09:00 ET. Open queue: content engine, multi-channel subs, Phase 1b, exec-speech lane, all-competitor synthesis, hero editorial polish.

2026-07-08 (~15:30 ET) — Session close: interactivity batch shipped

  • Arijit's final punch list built+shipped: barometer selection filters lenses (his "click commits" design intent), plays clickable with evidence chips + ranked + "Focus here first" line, cache-busting (stale-page class dead), brief.html in design language (render_brief_page). 497 tests.
  • Brief CONTENT still shows last stored text until tomorrow's 09:00 run persists reader_text (code shipped, data timing).
  • Fast rerender tool: scripts/rerender_dashboard.py (DB → page in seconds, no LLM).
  • Session totals: ~52 commits, 497 tests, V0→V2 cutover complete, machine autonomous at 09:00 ET.
