AI-OS — Log
2026-07-07 — skills/tooling hygiene session
- Background-task audit across board: no autonomous jobs (no session cron, no cloud routines, no user crontab); VPS services all healthy (jarvis, PRISM stack, docker containers). Only "sessions" = other open Claude windows.
- Killed ~18 orphaned MCP processes (yahoo-finance uv/python + chroma-mcp) reparented to PID 1 from sessions dead since Jun 26. Preserved live claude-mem chroma (PID 5465/5466). Caveat: one broad pkill also dropped this session's live yahoo-finance MCP (nil impact).
- arijit-skills repo: retired 3 dormant skills (market-research, agent-knowledge-capture, project-governance) → PR #2 merged to origin/main. Added record-knowledge + slash-commands/. Verified GONE on origin/main.
- Root cause of repeat confusion identified: a concurrent Claude session writes the same local clone (branch-switches under this one). Fix = user closes stale Jul-1 terminal tabs (ttys001/ttys007) + desktop agent chats.
- Open: partnerforge is next dormant candidate (superseded by algolia-intel-partner) — awaiting user yes before retiring.
[2026-07-08 00:40] Jarvis v1 verified + v1.1 premium build in flight
Independently verified the unsupervised Jarvis v1 build (server :4720 live, grounded Fable chat round-trip, screen directives, all data endpoints; one phantom-screenshot claim in its report caught). Arijit live-reviewed: baseline accepted; verdict "no soul, not sellable" + per-view directives (cost controlling-dashboard, skills playground w/ external intake + gated execution + VPS scheduling [approved], human SOPs, premium UI on locked Fresh Meadow, onboarding, voice everywhere). Shaped + approved v1.1 prompt (prompt-library 2026-07-08); fork dispatched ~00:20; interim: both design specs written, harness/intake/sops engines + 31 tests green (verified by own run). Standing agreements added: traffic-light status tables + /persist at logical stages; KB-grounding requirement (cite principles → decisions in build reports).
[2026-07-08 01:50] Instrument restyle verified + voice track opened
Taste anchor found (concept B "Swiss Instrument" — Arijit: "right direction"); design language codified (JARVIS-DESIGN-LANGUAGE.md); dark-cosmos concept killed on sight and banned. Full cockpit restyled live on :4720 and independently verified (21 screenshots incl. orb thinking/talking states, 31 tests, interactions table — hover/click/search/⌘K/GIVE-THE-GO all exercised; zero dead affordances rule). Living Jarvis orb hero shipped (state-reactive: thinking/talking/listening). Voice: male mandate + ElevenLabs spend authorized; key saved (AI-OS/.env.local, ELEVEN_LAB_API_KEY, 600); account = FREE tier so library voices blocked (his 03vEurziQfq3V8WZhQvn pick needs Creator upgrade); blind audition of 5 premade males live at localhost:4740. Awaiting: his letter pick, taste verdict on restyle, possible 11labs upgrade.
[2026-07-08 03:15] Adam is Jarvis's voice
Blind 5-voice audition → Arijit picked C = ElevenLabs "Adam" (deep/dominant). Wired as primary speak() provider: POST /api/tts server-side (key never in browser), eleven_flash_v2_5 low latency, orb talking-state on playback, fallback elevenlabs→webspeech-male→silent. Parent-verified: own TTS call returned real MPEG-III audio (36.8KB), 38/38 tests, zero key leakage in served page, orb screenshot read back. Remaining on voice: Arijit's ears test + optional 11labs paid tier for daily credits.
[2026-07-08 04:10] Morning brief live + reversibility class closed
Morning brief shipped and parent-verified on real data (6 meetings w/ countdown, 15→3 inbox, waiting-on items, $1,485.76 yesterday burn; 08:45 daily; Adam voice; Google auth already valid). Zoom-with-no-way-back — Arijit's sorest UX point — fixed as a CLASS (builder initially skipped the P0 order; caught, sent back): one exitToOverview() behind esc/click-empty/✕/back/contextual overview-pill, all 9 enterable states have verified exits (RESTYLE-REPORT §Reversibility). Experience Laws added to design language (earn-your-place, context-morphing, reversibility, experience-verify). Experience-audit agent (plays Arijit) running; its fix-list = next wave. 45 tests.
[2026-07-08 05:05] Brain graph data cleanup — zero orphans, zero broken links, human cluster names
Arijit's verdict on the brain graph was "still herding cats," so the data itself got cleaned. Every unlinked note is now reachable: the AI-OS and CI-OS project logs, the CI-OS task ledger, the Task Ledger Convention, the hot recency cache, and the brand-new CI-OS Product Doctrine (born unlinked this morning; given frontmatter and a prominent link from the CI-OS index). All 15 broken wikilinks are gone — the root class was Claude memory-file slugs written as vault wikilinks (Adobe-OEM, CI-OS, two Algolia-Central ADRs); those are now plain inline-code references, plus three syntax artifacts fixed (the literal view:/fly: directive text in My-Projects, a leftover **feedback or note** placeholder in the PRISM dev-log, and Scout's folder-link now pointing at the five real ADRs). The nine confusing concept regions collapsed into four groups a friend would understand: Reference library, Standards & how I work, Writing & voice, People & companies — projects untouched. The retired "ArijitOS" name no longer appears as any node label or fly-in title (tracker table alias and one-pager header renamed to AI-OS; historical log lines left as-is). graph.json rebuilt and verified: 186 notes, 379 links, 0 orphans, 0 broken.
[2026-07-08 06:05] Experience-audit backlog closed, re-audit gate running
All 21 audit fixes shipped and parent-spot-verified across three waves: Jarvis present+audible+readable on every view (dock everywhere, one markdown renderer w/ Instrument tables, TTS every reply), filter traps dead, one-screen-one-truth, decision cards stateful w/ undo, stable graph geography, narrated runs w/ spoken completion, content search (/api/search), full-note reading (/api/note), owner-language skill library, interactive tasks, live model cards, movement stat band. 49 tests. Honest gaps accepted: dock yields in fly-ins, no per-model cost data, mark-seen undefined, deep-research not a cockpit skill. Auditor re-entered for the closure gate (21-row table + fresh hunt + new aliveness verdict).
[2026-07-08 05:55] Brain clusters now earned by links, not folders
Arijit's verdict on the folder-based groups was blunt: random notes were being forced under a common name with no real relationship. The graph builder now works the other way round: the folder taxonomy only proposes a group NAME, and a note is a member only if it actually links to another member — pruned until stable, then each group is split into its genuine link components. Notes with no ties to any group become flagged satellites parked next to their strongest linked neighbor instead of being claimed by a fake family. Result: 3 concept groups, each a single connected web with a computed one-line reason exposed in graph.json (e.g. "37 notes in one connected web of real wikilinks, most through 'CodingSOPs'"); the People & companies group dissolved honestly (its 2 notes had no links to each other); membership violations went 5 to 0 with a hard assert in the builder. Two genuine map gaps in Master-Index were fixed along the way (the vault event log and the Standards hub were mentioned but never linked). Orphans and broken links stay at 0; 186 notes, 381 links.
[2026-07-08 06:35] Correction: wikilink resolver was silently mis-wiring the graph
Team-lead's independent check caught one note (the Algolia-Central spectrum overview) sitting in its project cluster with zero edges into it. The root cause was bigger than that note: the graph builder's wikilink resolver picked the shortest path on ambiguous names, so links like "open-questions" written inside the spectrum wiki quietly pointed at PRISM's open-questions file, and links written as relative or partial paths never resolved at all. Fixed as a class in build_graph.py: ambiguous names now prefer the note nearest the writer, relative and partial paths resolve the way Obsidian resolves them, and an explicit path that matches nothing is reported broken instead of guessed. The sweep rerouted five silently-wrong cross-project edges and exposed two deeper gaps, both fixed: Crawler-Factory and Video-Editing never had the index.md the read contract promises (created with honest tracker-sourced state), and the raw Karpathy capture was reachable only through misrouted links (now linked from its source summary page). Work clusters keep folder membership by design — the folder is a project's ground truth — and the builder now prints any project note with zero in-project links as an explicit watch item (currently just the two new single-note indexes). Final: 188 notes, 389 links, 0 orphans, 0 broken, concept membership violations still 0 under the hard assert.
[2026-07-08 05:45] Marathon close persist
Fleet design delivered + citation-audited (FLEET-DESIGN.md: 5 roles, zero-trust loop codified, Hermes not-yet, F1=Verifier first, 5 open decisions). Polish wave (sonnet, 4 items: wrapped tables, search excerpts, a11y, reconnect) in flight at persist time. Tier-discipline violation owned + memorized (nearly all overnight agents ran Fable against the model-economics law; new-spawn discipline now enforced). Everything else from tonight closed and verified — see index compiled zone.
[2026-07-08 07:00] Vault ontology pass — fix the source so the brain UI is honest
Arijit's challenge: the vault should dictate the brain visualization, not the reverse — stop lipsticking the picture and fix the data structure. The brain UI showed two large generic concept constellations. Diagnosis: they were catch-alls, not real things. The "Reference library" cluster held three unrelated things wearing one name — the Algolia REST/MCP API reference (11 weakly-linked notes that only hung off Knowledge/index's folder catalog), the Karpathy LLM-wiki research, and two near-empty stubs. The "Standards & how I work" cluster, by contrast, is genuinely one connected web (Standards + Architecture + System, hubbed on CodingSOPs/Manifesto/Master-Index) and was left intact — splitting a real web would be the opposite error.
Fixes, all source-side so the builder regenerates honest clusters: (1) moved the Algolia API reference under the Algolia umbrella (Projects/Algolia-Central/algolia-api-reference/), rebuilt its 00-index as a wikilink hub, and linked it from the umbrella index with a purpose sentence — it is now work:Algolia-Central (cluster 27→37), where Algolia platform knowledge belongs. (2) Kept the Karpathy research in Knowledge/ (that vault IS the pattern in practice) but added reciprocal meaning-bearing links to AI-OS — the gist is the founding research the second brain grew out of — and relabeled the cluster "Second-brain research". (3) Gathered the Hermes docs into a coherent learning area: hermes-source-map now hubs the four Hermes notes + Storage-Architecture and states the purpose (Hermes is the AI-OS execution engine), reciprocated from the AI-OS index. (4) Archived two stale stubs to Archive/Knowledge/. One builder change (a taxonomy label) was the only picture-side touch, and only because the old label mislabeled the honest remaining structure. Rebuilt graph.json: 186 notes, 400 edges, 0 orphans, 0 broken, 0 membership violations. Design of record: AI-OS/docs/planning/VAULT-ONTOLOGY.md.
[2026-07-08 afternoon] Wonder + forge + method
Wonder pass gate-verified (shader atmosphere reacting to Jarvis state + live Adam amplitude; particle events; kinetic numerals; 60fps measured on real GPU, degrade ladder proven under software GL). Nano Banana wired as /api/imagine (server-side key, scrub-asserted, 74 tests; PRISM emblem + panel texture commissions verified by eye). learn-from-yt captured Saraev's method → FABLE-DESIGN-METHOD.md; synthesis adopted: genre is law, technique is free, ≥3 iteration passes, stakes framing. Higgsfield MCP registered (user scope; Arijit OAuth pending — mid-session registrations invisible to running sessions). Asset-composer (fable) in flight: 11 project emblems + Chow Man crest + panel materials composed into the UI. Honest assessment delivered: personal OS ~50%, product ~25%; gaps = deploy gate, fleet build, health/finance data, per-commit tracker hook (offered).
[2026-07-08 ~15:00] Taste convergence + v6 mandate (handoff)
After the anchoring diagnosis (re-theming = same gestalt 7×), three blank-file hologram concepts shipped and served. Arijit's verdict recorded verbatim-intent in docs/planning/GOAL-ui-v6-genius-frontend.md: H2 Minority Report base (cleanliness, calendar time-cards + attention items, colors, fonts, breathing page) + H1 Iron Man brain (rotating circles, galaxy glow) + the Jarvis orb NOBODY got right yet (Zubeir/Iron-Man concentric circles, opposing rotation, animation changes as Jarvis engages — reference in docs/knowledge/zubeir-*) + ALL screens this round + the TAKE-MY-MONEY bar. Process he ordained: persist → handoff → clear → fresh Fable context with creative freedom + Nano Banana (/api/imagine, live) + Higgsfield MCP (registered, OAuth still pending). Lessons memorized: anchoring rule (blank-file for genre work), sample-first is THE taste process, lit-room hypothesis untested.
[2026-07-09 01:25] v6 home motherboard design converged, spec written+committed
Spent ~5 hours (2026-07-08 evening → 2026-07-09 early AM) cycling through home-screen visual directions before converging: knowledge-galaxy (flat, rejected), organic brain-cortex (rejected outright), honeycomb+mouse-spotlight (rejected, too much movement), blueprint-panel (rejected, confusing), circuit-board wallpaper (his pick, but initially rebuilt by hand instead of using the actual generated asset — corrected), flat CSS chip borders (rejected as "ugly as fuck"). Ran a full structured interview (superpowers:brainstorming skill, hard-gated — no code until approved) covering every element one at a time instead of continuing to guess-and-build blind. Converged design: home screen = a literal motherboard (CPU=Jarvis, RAM=vault, GPU=projects, PSU=power/cost), focus-based interaction (click a chip, board dims/blurs/zooms to it, click elsewhere to return), reusing existing screens (galaxy engine, plan/index.html) rather than inventing parallel systems. Spec written and committed: docs/superpowers/specs/2026-07-09-home-motherboard-design.md. Reference images saved to docs/planning/references/ (recovered the Higgsfield RAM-hologram comps from CDN before links expire; 2 source images from earlier in the session aged out of local cache and are unrecoverable, noted honestly — no functional loss since decisions are in code/prose). Next: fresh session implements the spec, recommended Fable given the now-tight brief, with a mandatory checkpoint after the first hard piece.
[2026-07-09 21:15] CPU chip shipped after 9-round detour; RAM/GPU/PSU asset locked; methodology codified
Continuing same-day from the motherboard spec session: built the CPU chip through 6 code-build rounds trying a CSS-overlay approach (wrong material, wrong center position, wrong rotation twice, then a rotation that undershot the real footprint angle by half) before the actual root cause surfaced — a CSS transform can never replicate a specific photo's camera perspective, so no position/rotation number would ever look physically fixed to the board. Round 6 switched to generating the chip baked directly into the real PCB photo via AI image-editing (nano_banana_pro, original photo as reference, measured pixel centroid/bbox via a color-mask script rather than eyeballing), and it worked on the first try. Arijit: "Now THIS IS PERFECT... we finally got it." Applied the proven recipe to RAM/GPU/PSU immediately — generated all three into the same board in one image pass (hub-and-spoke around the CPU, cyan liquid-chrome material), then 2 targeted "fix only the connections, keep everything else identical" edit passes to clean up GPU/PSU's pin-to-trace joins. Final verdict: "yes it is perfect now." Locked asset: cockpit/jarvis/generated/1783567929-pcb-motherboard-all4chips.webp.
Cost lesson landed hard mid-session: Arijit called out burning tokens on trial-and-error rotation tuning ("burning money here... killing my tokens") after 2 full agent dispatches were spent adjusting one CSS variable that a direct Read+Edit+screenshot would have fixed in a minute. Root-caused and codified as 6 pre-flight gates in docs/knowledge/fable-design/FABLE-DESIGN-METHOD.md (physical-integration → bake into asset; technique-vs-parameter — 2 failed fixes on one dimension means the technique is wrong; measure-don't-eyeball; agent-dispatch cost scope; verify-the-real-artifact before relaying any "done"; targeted edits for polish once structure is validated). 3 memories saved and cross-linked (chip-to-board-baking-technique, dont-spin-agents-for-numeric-tweaks, visual-build-preflight-gates) so the gates surface for any future visual build, any project.
CPU is wired into live code (glow/pulse/panel pop-out, anchored to measured position). RAM/GPU/PSU are NOT yet wired — asset is locked and approved, code pass is the next session's first task, same recipe as CPU round 6 (swap background, measure 3 new positions, layer live overlay behavior per chip).
[2026-07-09 22:05] RAM/GPU/PSU wired into live code — one clean dispatch, zero failed rounds
Continuing same-day: with the all-4-chips asset locked, measured RAM/GPU/PSU's exact pixel centroids/bboxes via the same color-mask script used for CPU (RAM 41.4%/14.5%, GPU 22.7%/56.5%, PSU 80.4%/51.8%), then dispatched one agent to wire all three using CPU's already-working code as the template. Result: every piece landed correctly on the first pass — RAM opens a corner-bracket-only volumetric galaxy hologram (no solid frame, per spec) with a working cluster drill-down into a real project drawer (verified: PRISM); GPU opens a HUD-frame project list with real project data that correctly navigates to the real CI-OS·Argus plan view; PSU opens a HUD-frame cost summary ($200→$14,664→73x, tier breakdown) that correctly navigates to the real Usage & Value screen with matching numbers; CPU's existing behavior verified unbroken. Zero rework rounds — direct contrast with CPU's 9-round detour, and the first real evidence the pre-flight gates (codified earlier this session) actually work. All four motherboard chips are now fully built and interactive end to end. Verification screenshots: docs/planning/references/ram-gpu-psu-build-verify/ (8 files, all reviewed directly, not taken on the agent's word).
